A Note from Paul Shiring

Welcome Fellow Cemeterians –

As a member of WPCA You have the distinction of belonging to the finest association of cemeterians and supporting cast of suppliers in the tri-state area dedicated to the promotion of professional cemetery management: sales – administration – maintenance.

Of course, with this privilege comes a great obligation ….. the obligation to become an active, contributing participant in the affairs of your Association and the profession we serve.

An active member wears many hats – an active member contributes news worthy items for publication in the quarterly newsletter, acts as a host for one of our quarterly meetings at your facility, may provide a speaker for one of our meetings, or contribute to the success of one of our educational conferences.

Whatever the extent your involvement, it is a certainty that you will harvest fields of knowledge from your interaction with colleagues in the business of cemetery management.

Our newsletter the “ECHO”, is published quarterly and will provide notice for the upcoming meeting and will also contain timely information that is relevant to the cemetery industry.

Take time out from your busy schedule to attend our quarterly meetings.  This is where you will enjoy the interaction with your peers in the cemetery industry.  You will have the opportunity to discuss matters of mutual importance not only to your specific operations but also Pennsylvania cemetery law in general.  And you will be discussing these matters with the experts in our field – those of us who experience the very same situations on a daily basis.  For the most part we have all walked – or will walk – a mile in each other’s shoes.

Don’t be a stranger.  Active participation in the affairs of your Association is simply an educational experience you can’t afford to miss out on.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to call on me personally at The Washington Cemetery, 724-225-1040 or contact me at prshiring@verizon.net, if I can be of any assistance.
